All too often we want to rush through the parts of life that are negative, destructive and chaotic. But it’s these moments that either make or break us. People see what you are made of under pressure, under unparalleled pain, coupled with months of confusion and division. Do you know what you’re capable of when your livelihood is threatened? How would you transform the instability of chaos into a platform of steady, step-by-step growth? Here are a few things I learned:
A. Take care of yourself first.
B. Remove the drama that causes sadness and anxiety in your relationships.
C. Create a new daily routine to help you return to normalcy.
D. Include at least a once daily trip to an outdoor area to meditate.
E. Enjoy treating yourself once a week.
F. A new normal that is productive creates a mental and physical resiliency.
G. As your platform begins to steady itself, add in something new to your routine. This increases your mental agility.
Mental agility teaches your brain to switch from chaos to clarity. It is a process of zeroing in on the details, then zooming out, and refocusing your perspective. This establishes vision. Your brain accelerates the absorption of what it is thinking and learning in a new environment. This increased state of awareness opens your mind to see, hear, know and understand new things even if you haven’t experienced them previously.
One example is mastering self-control. It is learning how to stay on task, persevere through obstacles and challenges, despite setbacks and disagreements. It is finding compromise and working towards negotiation until a project is complete.
The army teaches mindfulness practices to help soldiers work through traumatic situations, but also to have a flexible mind to be able to adapt to uncertain or changing situations, according to The University of Akron. It enhances the ways you respond to stress and helps you to reason critically.

To steady your platform of homeostasis, it is best to employ a series of tactics in a challenging situation. By removing stressors, establishing a new routine, and spending time in meditation to regain normalcy, your brain will develop a resiliency for adapting to significant obstacles, and changing circumstances.
